The Department of Housing is reportedly considering the imposition of an eviction ban during the winter months.
It is understood that plans are at an early stage of development.
A similar ban was imposed during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Homelessness is rampant and getting worse across Ireland, so it’s a bit late to consider an eviction ban at this stage, as the horse has already bolted from the stable, so to speak.
