Ireland’s CMO Dr Tony Holohan has said that further measures are not being contemplated at the moment and that a so-called Covid-19 circuit breaker is not under discussion at the moment.
Many believe that this sounds ominous as to what’s to come in the upcoming weeks towards Christmas and the New Year however.
Dr Tony Holohan is now said to be extremely concerned as case numbers seem to be skyrocketing again.
Irish health authorities have reported 3,685 new coronavirus infections over the past 24h.
Health authorities have also confirmed that there currently are 444 with severe coronavirus disease across Irish hospitals. It is unclear how many of these were fully vaccinated.
It’s understood that 74 people are in ICU around the country.
