The Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of up to 140mph and heavy rain has made beaches and coastal areas a complete no go zone leaving up to 2 million homes and businesses without power.
Homes up and down the western side of the State have been inundated with wind and rain. A further 45cm of rain is expected to fall over the coming 24 hours.
