A major search and rescue operation got underway this afternoon in Dungarvan, Co Waterford today after a man was seen on Devonshire Bridge.
Lifeboat services rushed to the scene when the emergency was raised and a search and rescue operation ensued that last a number of hours.
Along with the lifeboat services, the RNLA search and rescue helicopter was deployed to the scene.
Sadly, it’s been confirmed this evening that the body of a male was recovered in Dungarvan sea.
