Depeche Mode’s Andy Fletcher has suddenly died aged 60, his bandmates have confirmed.
The keyboardist and DJ, who founded the electronic band in 1980, has been described as a true heart of gold, they said.
“We are shocked and saddened by the untimely passing of our dear friend, family member and teammate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher,” read a statement posted on Depeche Mode’s Instagram account.
‘Our hearts are with his family, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and respect their privacy in this difficult time,’ it added.
