Gardai have confirmed that a young mother aged in her 30s has been killed on her way home from a Halloween event.
The woman was travelling in car with a man and two children when they were in a collision with another car that had a man aged in his 20s driving it outside Rathkeale near Limerick on Monday evening.
It’s understood the woman was travelling home from a children’s Halloween event in a cinema.
Gardaí say that the man and two children were also injured, as was the driver of the other car.
They say they did all they could to save the woman but that she died at the scene from her injuries.
All other passengers are in hospital for non life threatening injuries. The road remains closed for a technical examination.
