A motorcyclist in his 60s has sadly died in a road accident in Co Louth this afternoon.
The single vehicle accident occurred at around 3.30pm on the R173 between Carlingford and Omeath. Mister.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to County Louth Hospital where an autopsy will be performed at a later date.
The road is closed to allow for a forensic investigation of the crime scene by Garda and local bypasses are in place.
The Gardaí have asked any witnesses to the incident to call Dundalk Garda Station on 042 938 8400 or any other Garda Station.
