Gardai have confirmed that a woman in her 80s has died following a hit and run incident in Oranmore, Galway.
The woman, aged in her 80s, was struck by a vehicle after 5pm on the old Limerick Road with the driver failing to stop.
She was rushed to University Hospital Galway where sadly she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward and contact them with dashcam footage to the Galway or Oranmore station, or the Confidential Line on 1800-66-61-11.
