?BREAKING: Get the bread in – Strong winds have already started along the west coast




Image source: Windy.comExtreme weather is about to hit the country, in particular in the Southwest of the country, but both coastal lines will take a smashing.

Social media users are already posting that hard winds are hitting County Kerry and Cork, but start time of Storm Barra is said to be 3am.

Met Eireann has announced that Storm Barra is now posing the triple threat of rain, wind and snow with a severe threat to life.

Coasts, river and surface flooding with 14 metre of waves and over 80mm of rainfall expected over the next 48 hours.

There’s now real concerns surrounding the storm with people urged to stay indoors at all costs in the red weather alert warnings.

People are told to charge their mobile phones, tie down garden furniture that could fall over.

Storm Barra brings wind speeds of up to 140km/h and very heavy rains. Disruption to power grids is widely expected.

The Status Red warning will be in place for counties Kerry and Cork between 6am and 9pm on Tuesday.
