In what’s being described online as very serious and a disaster, today’s case numbers appear to be as bad as we ever had, even at the height of the problem in Januart 2021.
The number of people in ICU is now said to be alarming NHPET into an avenue that no one wants to go down, possible further restrictions in the not too distant future.
They continue to say that no new restrictions are on the table but many feel that they’re not far off even though the vast majority are vaxxed.
Ireland’s CMO Dr Tony Holohan has said that the situation is now unsustainable and has urged those who aren’t vaxxed to get their vaccination.
Many believe that this sounds ominous as to what’s to come in the upcoming weeks towards Christmas and the New Year however.
Dr Tony Holohan is now said to be extremely concerned as case numbers seem to be skyrocketing again.
Irish health authorities have reported 5,471 new coronavirus infections over the past 24h.
Health authorities have also confirmed that there currently are 579 with severe coronavirus disease across Irish hospitals. It is unclear how many of these were fully vaccinated.
It’s understood that 122 people are in ICU around the country.
