A group of anti-vaccine protesters arrived at Trinity College today allegedly looking to speak to Professor Luke O’Neill, of the School of Biochemistry and Immunology, ahead of a scheduled protest in the city centre.
O’Neill has been a vocal face of the lockdown and vaccine since the pandemic started and many, many people on social media are not happy with him.
They walked through the doors of the Science Gallery after meeting in the CRANN building on Pearse Street.
And the university put heavy protection on the gate after security guards escorted the group of around 30 people out of the grounds.
Since then, protesters have flocked to the convention centre to protest government restrictions on COVID-19.
One protester told The Liberal:
“I’m absolutely sick of the lies and misconceptions that the government and so-called professionals are putting out there. We’re respectful but we want answers to our questions. No one knows what’s in the vaccines, they’re untested and no one knows what could be their side effects down the road.”
“We have nicknamed Luke O’Neill with the appropriate Puke O’Neill because he makes us sick with his propaganda”.
