Donald Trump’s blog page has vanished from his website, less than 30 days after he launched it with much fanfare.
Dubbed From the Desk of Donald J. Trump, the now disgraced former US President had used the outlet to put out poorly formatted walls of text airing his traditional grievances.
Mr. Trump had hoped the blog would immediately garner a vast audience, but these hopes were quickly thwarted by a stark reality of extremely poor readership.
Overall, according to statistics collected by BuzzSumo, the blog attracted just over 212,000 engagements (defined as backlinks and social interactions, such as ‘Likes,’ etc.) throughout its brief existence. As a means of comparison, just one tweet from Mr. Trump might have been retweeted hundreds of thousands of times. Twitter, wisely, condemned Mr. Trump to an eternity of tweeting silence following his incitement of the January 6th insurrection.
It is understood that the lack of attention to his blog infuriated the former President, prompting him to walk away from it.
