A major air and sea rescue operation is under way Co Galway after a man was reported to be missing off Cruach na Cara in the Carna area of Conamara.
The man was sailing on a yacht earlier with a female companion and they went ashore in a small dinghy.
The man has not been seen since he went to retrieve the dinghy later in the day.
The search operation continues tonight after a mayday call was issued from a vessel near Oileán Máisean, a short distance offshore from Carna at 6pm.
