Met Eireann have warned motorists to be extremely vigilant overnight and early morning as temperatures are set to plummet with the rarity of thundersnow expected.
The national weather forecaster says that conditions will be treacherous for those who’ll be on the roads with pedestrians advised to be careful if they’re out for early morning walks also.
Tonight will see some wintry falls, particularly over high ground across Ulster and north Connacht, with temperatures remaining in single digits at best. Tomorrow morning is expected to see freezing weather as temperatures sink to below zero in places.
