Mattie McGrath compares Minister for Finance to Oliver Cromwell and says the Government is completely out of touch

Independent TD Mattie McGrath has once again slammed the Government for their handling over the continuing rise in the cost of living.

In a scathing attack on the Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe, the Tipperary TD said that both he and the Government are completely out of touch when it comes to the hardships people are facing every day given the recent rise in inflation.

Speaking in the Dail this afternoon, McGrath said to the Finance Minister that Oliver Cromwell wasn’t as bad in his persecution of ordinary Irish people.

McGrath claimed that the current cost of living is shocking and that both Fine Gael and Fianna Fail are the parties of the big conglomerates and they are wedded to them given the billions they make.

The Tipperary TD also told Donohoe that the Government loves big business and conglomerates at the expense of ordinary working people and rural farmers.
