The national emergency weather response team have announced that they’re going to meet this morning at 10:30am.
The Liberal understands that members of the government will also be in attendance with Met Eireann joining the meeting via video link with a detailed update on the weather for the coming days.
It’s believed that the weather is due to plummet to -7c in places.
It’s expected that the team may issue a national weather warning, alert and provisions for people to get home from the weather by a certain time to avoid the worst of the inclement conditions.
