?BREAKING: The end of covid – Martin to address the nation as Government agrees on removing all restrictions by October 22nd, except for mask wearing in certain settings

The government has agreed on a roadmap that will basically bring an end to restrictions on October the 22nd.

Its based on Covid-19 cases remaining manageable and that 90% of adults are fully vaccinated.

Face masks will still be required in the health and retail sectors and on public transport for now at least but people who are exempt will not be required to wear masks.

From 6 September, larger crowds can attend religious ceremonies with up to 50% capacity allowed in places of worship for Mass.

Sporting events can have 50% capacity in stadiums outdoors with indoor venues seeing 60% capacity for events for those who are vaccinated and 75% at outdoor locations but only for those who are vaccinated.

Live music indoors will finally return for weddings and in bars. Students will be on campus in September also.

Workplaces too will see people being allowed to return, should they wish to do so. It’s finally looking as though the end of the pandemic is in sight.

It’s understood that the Taoiseach Micheal Martin will address the nation later this evening.
