A man who was seriously assaulted on Tuesday night in Sligo has died.
The 39-yr-old was found with serious head injuries in his apartment in Rockwood Parade in the town.
He was taken to hospital but quickly transferred to Beaumont due to the severity of the assault.
Gardai have announced this morning that the man died during the night and have appealed for any information from the public to contact them on the Confidential Line on 1800-66-61-11.
