The third deadly shark attack in the waters off the state of South Australia in recent months claimed the life of a fifteen-year-old surfer.
Authorities stated that on Thursday, Khai Cowley, who was surfing with his father off the isolated Ethel Beach on the Yorke Peninsula west of Adelaide, South Australia, was attacked by a suspected great white shark.
When the youngster was brought ashore, rescue personnel were unable to bring him back to life.
In isolated areas of South Australia, surfers lost their lives to shark attacks in May and October as well. Their remains were never found again.
Since 2000, there have been eleven fatal shark attacks in the waters of South Australia, according to Premier Peter Malinauskas.
