A 17-year-old youth has been arrested in connection with an aggravated burglary in which five men, who were armed with knives, broke into a house in Dublin and threatened and assaulted a woman.
Gardai say a substantial amount of cash was taken during the armed burglary, which happened at a house in the Belfry area, Citywest, Dublin at around 7.50am yesterday morning. It is understood that woman did not require medical assistance and she was the only occupant in the house at the time.
Gardai say the men fled the scene in a car taken from the house. The car was later recovered in the Glenshane area of Tallaght. However in a follow up search, the 17-year-old male was arrested in connection with the investigation and is being held at Tallaght Garda Station.
