Owen Maughan, of Dun Saithne, Balbriggan, appeared in Balbriggan Circuit Court last November charged with the murder of the 65-year-old man.
According to RTE, Maughan will appear in Cloverhill District Court next Tuesday.
Christopher Hall was a father of two adult daughters and was found at his home in Dun Saithne Green on November 24, 2021 with serious head and body injuries.
Detective Sergeant Eoin McDonnell testified about the arrest, the charge and the caution of Maughan.
According to the national broadcaster, he told the court that he formally charged the defendant at 10:48 a.m. m. from this morning.
Maughan did not respond to the allegation after receiving a tip that Detective Sgt.
Defense attorney Fiona D’Arcy said that given the nature of the charges, she could not seek bail at this time and that it was a matter for the Superior Court.
