22-yr-old thug who stole car in Dublin before killing the owner gets just jailed for just 9 years




A man who stole a car and killed the owner by tossing him from the bonnet while he was driving away has been jailed for 9 and a half years.

On January 23, 2022, Adam Murphy, 22, of Cherry Orchard Crescent, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, entered a guilty plea to one count of Ian McDonnell’s manslaughter.

In addition, he entered a guilty plea to two charges of trying to take a car, three counts of stealing three cars, one count of trying to remove something from a car, and one count of stealing a pushbike on the same day at different places in Dublin, reports Breaking News.

On January 23, 2022, his co-accused, 22-year-old Keith McCormick Smith of Riverview, Church Road, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15, entered a guilty plea to two counts of try-stealing, three counts of vehicle theft, one count of attempting to steal property from a vehicle, and one count of push bike theft at various locations in Dublin.

On February 8, 2022, he entered a guilty plea to one count of possessing stolen goods, namely a car key, at his residence.

A “spree” of crimes had been carried out by two criminals who were robbing automobiles with the intention of selling them. While Mr. McDonnell was at work, Murphy took his car and drove off, leaving Mr. McDonnell perched on the bonnet, reports Breaking News.
