A man has been arrested after a girl was raped near a primary school in the UK on Monday night. Police were called at 7.45pm to a meadow near the primary school of St. Margaret’s Church in Heywood, Greater Manchester.
A 24-yr-old man was questioned on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody. The girl, whose age is not yet known, is being taken care of by specialised officials. Police are looking for witnesses who saw the man or girl near Balmoral Drive in Darnhill, Heywood.
According to the Metro, a police spokesperson said: ‘At around 7.45pm yesterday, police were called to reports that a child had been raped near to Balmoral Drive in Heywood. ‘A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape. He remains in custody for questioning.
‘Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 4668 or 101 quoting incident number 2536 of 09/06/2020, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.’
