2,500 people conferred with Irish citizenship following special ceremony in Co Kerry




Around 2,500 people have been conferred with Irish citizenship following a special ceremony in Co Kerry on Monday.

In an event held in Killarney 2,500 took an oath of fidelity to the State.

Amongst those to be conferred included 1,000 UK nationals, 700 Polish nationals and almost 500 Romanians.

It is understood that a further 2,500 people will be conferred at another ceremony later today.
