The Sinn Fein leader, Mary Lou McDonald has confirmed via a video on social media that her children are in self-isolation following a student at their school contracting coronavirus.
McDonald posted the video saying that her children are now in a 14 day isolation and that it’s a very worrying time for all families and patients concerned.
It comes as Scoil Catriona on Mobhi Road, in Glasnevin, North Dublin has begun a two week closure following the confirmation that a male patient at the school has coronavirus.
The measure was taken in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The patient with the school is the first confirmed case in the Republic of Ireland.

We’re at home with the kids after a confirmed case of the coronavirus at their school. I’m postponing meetings in Cavan + Galway as I’d like to stay close to home but I’ll be back at work tomorrow. Stick to the medical advice, wash your hands with warm soapy water. Stay safe. pic.twitter.com/32SLFfLiDn
