33 Ukrainians are still arriving daily as financial supports change today to €38.80 per week

Over the last week, an average of 33 Ukrainians have arrived in Ireland each day, ahead of tomorrow’s scheduled adjustments to accommodations and services for new immigrants, reports RTE.

It will entail that anybody seeking state-provided housing in Ireland and escaping the conflict in Ukraine who applies for temporary protection will be granted a place to reside for a maximum of ninety days.

In designated accommodation centres, they will get food, washing, and other services in addition to integration aids.

During their stay in the facilities, residents will no longer be eligible for standard social welfare benefits, reports RTE.

During their stay in the facilities, they will be eligible for a reduced weekly payment of €38.80 per adult and €29.80 per kid for daily costs. These modifications have no bearing on a child’s entitlement to child benefit.

If they fulfil the eligibility requirements, they will be able to apply for normal social welfare support, comparable to that of Irish citizens, once they leave the designated accommodation centre or if they want to make their own lodging arrangements when they arrive, reports RTE.

New immigrants from Ukraine will be accommodated for ninety days at six designated locations.

The initial quintet of verified centres are:

Ballyogan Road, Dublin city (capacity: 392)
Stradbally, Co Laois (capacity: 950)
Fernbank, Limerick city (capacity: 250)
Punchestown, Co Kildare (capacity: 378)
Gerald Griffin Street, Cork city (capacity: 107)
