A north Dublin career criminal has been given a 15 year sentence for firing a machine gun on the streets of Ballymun last year.
One Garda was almost shot in the head while arresting Derek Devoy during the chaotic incident in March 2019. The 37 year old also had a live hand grenade,
which destroyed an innocent family’s home when a specialist bomb disposal unit were forced to detonate it.
According to RTE, Devoy has been involved in serious organised crime for the last two decades.
