41-year-old Howard Kelly who pleaded guilty to the murder of a young woman in Dublin 21 years ago, has been given a mandatory life sentence.
Margaret (Margot) Seery died at her home in Kenilworth Square on 8 October 1994 from asphyxiation from choking.
Howard Kelly, with an address at Osprey Apartments, Naas in Co Kildare was sentenced this afternoon at Central Criminal Court.
The court heard Ms Seery’s family received a letter of remorse from Kelly.
She was buried in Rathkeale Cemetery in Limerick, however on 16 September 2014, her body was exhumed and a post-mortem examination and further investigations into her murder.
Kelly was arrested and charged with her murder earlier this year.
