Three children were discovered dead at a Bristol residence, leading to the arrest of a lady on suspicion of murder, reports RTE.
At around 12.40 am, Avon and Somerset Police responded to a welfare concern report in Blaise Walk, Sea Mills.
A short while later, the small children were discovered inside the residence and declared dead.
The 42-year-old lady is being held by police at the hospital after being detained on suspicion of murder, reports RTE.
Because of previous communication, Avon and Somerset Police alerted the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Neighbourhood chief inspector Vicks Hayward-Melen said: “This is an incredibly tragic and heart-breaking incident in which three children have sadly died. My sincere condolences go to the children’s loved ones and we will be ensuring they are offered support through our family liaison unit,” reports RTE.
