A 48-yr-old married father who lives in Dublin appeared in Dublin’s District Court on Wednesday afternoon charged with raping a young woman on August 9th.
Gardai arrested the man on Tuesday night and that it was alleged the taxi driver picked up the woman in Dublin city centre.
He drove his car to where she lived and that he got into the back of the car and that he allegedly raped her. However, the taxi driver said that any sexual encounter was consensual.
The man has been released but cannot work as a taxi driver and will appear again in court on August 31st.
