5 Irish people still missing after Nepal earthquake.

According to the Red Cross website, these five Irish people who were in the area where the earthquake occurred have not yet made contact:

Alex Murphy (25) Dublin
Thomas Drumm (55) Monaghan
Ciaran Sands (55) Ireland
Niall Kavanagh (54) Dublin
Sam O’Neill (28) Ireland

Their names are listed on the website, where relatives registered them with their details and reported them missing.

There is an option to click “I am alive” so that family and friends can be alerted that they are safe, once the missing person can get online.

A climber from Longford, Paul Devaney used social media immediately after the earthquake occurred to reassure his friends and family that he was safe.

The death toll of this earthquake may rise to 10,000 according Nepalese Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.

The UN has stated that 8 million people have been affected by the earthquake.
