A criminal who has been on a year-long one-man crime wave is the prime suspect in a heartless car theft that sent a 70-year-old woman to hospital with injuries to her face, arms and legs, reports Independent.
The shocking incident happened at 5.30pm on Tuesday in a supermarket car park in Castlerea, Co Roscommon, when the first-time offender, in his 40s, tried to distract the pensioner.
It is understood to have stopped a woman driving and falsely told her she had a flat tyre.
A serial offender from Co Tipperary drags a woman from her car and drives away.
The woman was briefly dragged across the road with her hand on the car door.
It was reported that the victim was still in the hospital and their condition is said to be stable, reports Independent.
