Migrant living in Dublin to be sentenced next month for false imprisonment and beating and kicking his ex girlfriend senseless

A man who attacked his ex-partner, forcing her “covered in blood” in the boot of a car, will be sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court next month.

Sophian Mountasir, 39, described her ex-partner as having “a blind rage” and subjected her to hours of punching and kicking that left her fearing for her life, a court heard.

In a victim impact statement read aloud in court, the woman said she had been “afraid of her own life” since the attack a year ago.

“I have become a different person. I have a lot of anxiety and I struggle to leave the house alone,” she said, reports Independent.

The woman then remembers Mountassir punched her in the face and knocked off her glasses.

A bystander called Mountasir a “scumbag” and asked him to stop beating the woman, but she begged her to leave because she was scared and didn’t want to make the situation worse.

The woman described Mountassir grabbing her and forcing her into the car, where he forced her face into a boot.

“There was blood all over my face. I was in complete shock,” the woman said, reports Independent.
