A 77-year-old woman had an unusual encounter in her Florida home in recent days, after waking up to the presence of a huge reptile in her kitchen.
The lady, named as Mary Wischhusen from Clearwater, Florida, heard noises in the house and her first thought was burglars. But upon closer inspection, she came face to face with an 11ft alligator roaming around her kitchen.
Ms. Wischhusen ran back into her bedroom and rang animal control officers, who showed up promptly and safely removed the beast.
The alligator will likely be sent to a private alligator farm in Florida.
