80-yr-old man recovering after being pushed by fellow shopper in queue at Lidl supermarket




A pensioner who was out shopping needed several days of hospital treatment after an alleged attack in a supermarket.

An unidentified 80-year-old man was shopping with his wife at a Lidl in Stockton, UK on Sunday March 19 when an altercation erupted, reports Teesside Live.

The couple were reportedly waiting in line to pay for their belongings shortly after 2pm when another man allegedly pushed them, causing them to fall, reports The Mirror.

However, the suspect left the Tower Street shop before entering Stockton High Street.

Sadly, the reported assault victim also suffered multiple injuries requiring hospitalization, such as a broken hip.

Now, Cleveland Police are now appealing the identity of the suspect, who is described as a white male, aged in the late sixties to early seventies and approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, reports The Mirror.

He is described as having brown hair, being bald on top and wearing glasses, a black coat, and a cream or white sweater with a black collared shirt.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Police are appealing after a man was left with a fractured hip in an assault in Lidl, Stockton. The incident happened in the Tower Street store around 2:05pm on Sunday, March 19. A man, aged 80, was waiting to be served in company with his wife when another man pushed him, causing him to fall over and fracture his hip,” reports The Mirror.
