At least 86 Nigerian Christians has been slaughtered in a massacre by Muslim Fulani herdsmen who attacked their farms.
Muslim violence against Christians and other minorities has blighted Nigeria and other parts of Africa for centuries but the past several years has seen a significant increase in the bloodshed.
Now Christian leaders in the country are warning that unless Muslim genocide of Christians is halted tens of millions of Nigerians will have to flee the country.
Muslim violence is becoming increasingly prevalent across the globe from Africa to Europe and from the Middle East to Myanmar, with every other religious grouping suffering at the hands of Islamists but Christians in particular being a common target.
According the UN Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world, with most the violence and discrimination being suffered at the hands of Muslims.
Meanwhile, the formerly predominant Christian nations of Europe are engaged in a supreme effort to placate their rapidly growing Muslim populations in the hope that this may stave off violence.
