An unofficial sit-down protest got heated today outside the GPO in Dublin’s O’Connell St. Gardai were forced to intervene and make 11 arrests of people who got “somewhat unwieldy” as one bystander said.
Gardai said 60 people were blocking traffic with their unofficial sit-down that they needed to leave immediately. Nine of the 11 people appeared in a special sitting of Dublin District Court at 9pm charged in connection with the offences.
