90-yr-old Irish grandmother becomes the first person in the world to get the covid vaccine




A 90-yr-old grandmother has become the first person in the world to receive a Covid-19 vaccine outside of a trial process.

Margaret Keenan received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine around 6:45am this morning at her local hospital in Coventry, England.

Mrs Keenan is originally from Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, she has lived in Coventry for the past 60 years. She will also receive a booster dose in 21 days to ensure that she is protected against the virus as time goes on.

The Irish grandmother turns 91 next week and worked all her life in jewellery shops until she was 86.

Mrs Keenan has a daughter, a son and four grandchildren.
