Paid paternity leave to be extended to five weeks




Paid paternity leave will be extended to five weeks beginning from the new year it has been confirmed.

In an announcement made today the Government confirmed that paternity leave will be extended to those who are parents of a child up to two years of age.

The decision comes after the cabinet introduced two weeks paid paternity leave for parents in 2019.

Under the new measures parents will be entitled to an extra three weeks paid leave.
