North Korea and Kim Jong-un have announced that they will end its nuclear and long range missiles testing.
The breakthrough announcement comes ahead of meeting with South Korean leader Moon Jae-in.
According South Korea’s Yonhap news, Pyongyang released the following statement: “From April 21, North Korea will stop nuclear tests and launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).”
“The North will shut down a nuclear test site in the country’s northern side to prove the vow to suspend nuclear test.”
It is expected the news of the abandonment of testing will be welcomed by many world leaders who have issued repeated calls for the country to end its missile testing.
