On Thursday, a 26-yr-old man showed up in court on a charge of trying to kidnap a youngster in Dublin, reports RTE.
He was charged following the incident.
There was no request for bail, and the individual has been detained in detention on remand for a week.
Sergeant William Godfrey informed the court that he had taken the man into custody according to section 17 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, reports RTE.
He stated that after being taken into custody at a garda station, the accused was questioned about the offence.
He did not respond to the charge.
The man is charged with “intentionally” trying to abduct a minor “without lawful authority or reasonable excuse” and with failing to do so, reports RTE.
The media have been barred from reporting details about the man, his identity, his nationality or where is from.
