The body of a man has been found in the estuary of the River Shannon. It is believed that the man is in his 20s and entered the river on 23 December, 2014. Bunratty Search and Rescue recovered the body around 4pm.
The body may be a missing Limerick man who has not been seen since before Christmas. The body has been taken away for medical tests. The length of time the man’s body has been in the River Shannon may make it difficult to formally identify him in the short term
