Feminists are outraged after a new Ghostbusters sequel was confirmed last week, that will star men, take place in the same world as the first two movies and ignore the all-female flop reboot of 2016.
Ghostbusters 3 will take place in the same universe as Ghostbusters 1984 and Ghostbusters 2 1989 and director Jason Reitman is facing an online backlash from triggered feminists who viewed the all-female reboot of Ghostbusters as some kind of triumph of progress.
Leslie Jones who starred in the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters lashed out on the announcement of Ghostbusters 3 on twitter comparing to the new movie set for 2020 as like something “Trump would do”.
However, audiences and critics did not take too kindly to the all-female Ghostbusters which saw a loss of $70 million which led the studio producing it to immediately cancel any planned sequels.
Predictably, misogyny was blamed for the film’s failings.
