In south county Galway, a man in his 20s lost his life when the quad bike he was operating collided with a tractor and trailer, reports RTE.
On Sunday afternoon, the event took place near Derrybrien South, about 16 kilometres east of the town of Gort.
The emergency services were called at around 1:15 p.m.
The route where the event happened was blocked so that a technical analysis could be conducted, reports RTE.
