Police confirmed that the body found in a Hampshire forest was that of the missing teenager Louise Smith, 16. The young girl from the Leigh Park area was reported missing on May 8. After the discovery of a body in Havant on Thursday, a murder investigation was launched immediately.
Hampshire police have confirmed that a formal body identification procedure have been completed and that Louise’s family had been informed of her death. They have the support of specialised officers. A couple, both aged 29, were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping after the girl was reported missing and has since been released on bail. Louise was reportedly placed in their care by social services.
