Restaurant association pleads with government to reduce social distancing from 2 metres to 1

Businesses need help to get back on their feet now that we’re beginning to exit from Ireland’s coronavirus outbreak.

Restaurant owners say that reducing the social distance from 2 metre to 1 metre would allow for a queuing system to work.

They say that currently 2 metres allow only 25% of their business to operate while if they reduce 2 to 1 metre then it would up their business work to 50%.

However, the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has announced that the 2 metre rule will remain and is not changing to 1 metre at this time.
