A Drogheda pharmacist has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed with a scissors

A 33-yr-old pharmacist working in the Cottage Pharmacy on Scarlet Street in Drogheda, has been rushed to hospital after a vicious stabbing this morning.

The attack took place at 9:30am this morning after a man in his 30s entered the premises.

It is not known precisely what altercation occurred other than the man grabbing a sharp scissors and stabbing the pharmacist at the till area.

The man then ran from the shop into a nearby cemetery where he collapsed. He too is receiving medical treatment but has been arrested by Gardai.

It hasn’t been determined if the assailant stabbed himself after attacking the pharmacist.

The pharmacist is currently receiving medical treatment at Our Lady Of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda.
