A man in his 30s has been left on life support following a vicious attack by a gang of men on Christmas Eve.
According to the Mirror, the man was allegedly assaulted on Church Street, Athlone, Westmeath and has been left with extremely serious head injuries.
He is in Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, where he is recovering in the intensive care unit.
