A No Go: Pokémon Go asked to remove the National Memorial from its app




The creators of the hugely popular Pokemon Go app have been asked to remove the National Memorial from the game, after a leading association accused the apps creators of disrespecting Ireland’s fallen members of the defence forces.

The call comes from the Permanent Defence Forces Other Ranks Representative Association (PDFORRA) after a number of players have been descending on the monument at Dublin’s Merrion Square to play the game.

The PDFORRA say having the memorial in the is completely disrespectful given the fact it was designed as a place of reflection.

Pokémon Go has become hugely popular worldwide. The game see’s people being to various locations to collect virtual monsters.
