A number of pro life peaceful protests were held around the country again this past weekend. The increase in protests have come as local Pro Life activists became aware that abortion clinics were being operated in or mooted for their area.

In Dun Laoghaire, it’s understood that a significant number of Pro Life protesters held a peaceful protest, while more were held in Kilkenny, Galway and Wicklow.

These latest Pro Life protests come after a Drogheda contingent protested peacefully in the freezing cold weather in January and February outside of Our Lady Of Lourdes hospital.

One of the Pro Life protesters in Kilkenny, political activist and campaigner Paddy Manning told The Liberal:
“We peacefully protested outside a so-called health centre in Graignamannagh, but abortion is not health care, it’s the direct ending of an innocent unborn human being.”

“We were met with a lot of support during our protest as were fellow Pro Life activists around the country who are taking a stand for life.”

Asked about future protests, Paddy said:
“There must be a voice for the unborn. We will never stop.”

In March, Pro Life protester Charles Byrne told The Liberal:
“It now seems very likely that protest against child-killing will be outlawed in this country. There are people all around the country who have make it clear to me that they are willing to peacefully disobey such an unjust law. The pro-abortion movement may have the government, the media, the judges, the doctors, even the use of the Gardai should they so need them, but we have the truth. Their power is built on lies and sooner or later it will crumble.”

Another activist Sarah Kelleher told The Liberal:
“We’ll do whatever it takes to try and save an unborn baby’s life. Some women have changed their minds when they see peaceful signs reminding them that they’re carrying a baby and are about to end its life. If it means we have to go to jail, then we’ll just have to go to jail but we will never ever stop”.
